Time Lapse: Making A Fondant Heart Cake With A Fondant Bandaid

March 01, 2010 By: Category: Organic Home

So I made this cake for a friend of mine (Bianca) who had open heart surgery last week. I got a chance to visit her and I brought her this cake! The cake is red velvet that is cut into the shape of a heart. I coated it in organic home made butter cream. It is covered in redish pink fondant and a fondant bandaid on the top. Enjoy! btw, Bianca said that it was super yummy! Yea… I got some skills ;)

    @denizkilic,

    Thanks for the lovely comment! I am glad you enjoyed my videos!

    Yea, I iced the cake with buttercream and then put it in the fridge for at least an hour to make it stiff which makes it easier to cover in fondant.

    The buttercream is super simple to make. I found a recipe on youtube. If you want to know specifically which one, just let me know and I will find it.
