Why Eating Organic Foods Should be a No-Brainer
www.therenegadehealthshow.com – No matter where I go, or who I talk to, the most common questions about healthy foods that get are these… Why should I eat organic food vs conventional? Are organic foods really better than conventional foods? How do I know that I’m not being scammed? You’d think that with the scientific evidence that pesticides are harmful and organics have more nutrients than conventional foods that people would start switching over. But it’s not the case. I read in a …

I have to say there is a big difference in the taste of the organic versus conventional produce. It has a more vibrant mineralized taste. I also noticed a big difference in how I felt when (after about a month) when my wife switched us to all organic foods. I didn’t think much about it. We switch back after a year and I definately noticed a drop in my good body feeling. I was hoping i wouldn’t notice a difference since I am more into saving money. But good health is going to save us.
1I am always open to both sides of the issue. Besides not wanting poisons sprayed on my food, I also don’t want chemical fertilizers used to grow my food. The facts are, they deplete the mineral composition of the soil since they are mostly concerned with Nitrogen Potassium and Phosphorous since these 3 minerals/elements are the only ones you need to make a plant grow big and tall. Health scientists estimate we need at least 40 minerals from the plant portion of our diet. Some say a lot more
2This is the typical sensationalist video I expect from people who don’t understand the facts of the food industry and only have a one sided perspective on the issue. Yes, I think many pesticides used on crops, shouldn’t be used, but do I think organic is the solution? Of course not! With a little bit of research and average intelligence, anyone can come to the conclusion that organic food is not only a scam, but potentially dangerous as well. I urge people to read both sides of the issue!
3lol its not that hard…taste a plum from walmart and one that is organic side by side and you will see the difference…i
4This is the most retarded argument I have seen in a long time.
There is so much wrong with this, and speaks volumes of the shear ignorance of the organic ideologists.
Trying to say all pesticides are the same is like saying all vehicles are the same. Its an over generalisation, diffrent chemicals are designed for different things.
First of all modern fertalizers break down and r biodegradeable. Second of all the concentrations are lower. Third, if u think organics are chem free ur an idiot!
5Arsenic is also natural ya know.
Natural != safer or better.
You do realise that that particular “organic” fertiliser is 4 times less effective than normal fertilisers meaning tractors have to go up and down the field 4 times more often pumping out C02 and compacting the land. Which Leads to more run off.
You also realise that many of these “organic” fertilisers dont break down nearly as fast as the petro-biodegradable fertilisers, so when they get washed away they can form algae blooms?

organic food does use pesticides yes, you are right…its called OrangeGuard…and is NATURAL.
7“What the argument isn’t about is whether or not natural or synthetic material is more dangerous than the other.”
Actually, that’s EXACTLY what the argument is about. If it were about farming practices, you’d think there’d be at least one mention of what they actually are or what substances they actually use.
Instead, the argument is “Organic is natural therefore better.”
8Pesticides are synthetic poisons created for the sole purpose of killing any destructive animal or insect.
The argument here is if organic farming is healthier than conventional farming, for you, the environment, and the economy.
What the argument isn’t about is whether or not natural or synthetic material is more dangerous than the other.
Get it straight Doc.
9“There is not doubt that pesticides are bad for your body.”
Better stay away from organic food, then.
In fact, all farming is done with pesticides. Just because something is ‘natural’ doesn’t mean it’s safe. Just because something is safe doesn’t mean it’s ‘natural’.
Cobra venom is ‘natural’. Tofu is ‘synthetic’.
It’s very wrong to say, in general, that something bad for a wildly different creature is also bad for humans.
10slothmag, you really don’t taste or feel any difference between those? Huh.. maybe there is something wrong with your taste? When i cut my organic orange in a half, it bleeds with juice, the other one i have to squeeze..
11Organic farmers use pesticides, except they’re non-synthetic. Meaning its old-fashioned poison. Modern pesticides are much safer. Organic food people are so condescending and better knowing, like other religious crazy people. “We’re saving the world and you’re ruining it”.There is no taste difference or nutrient benefits as proven by countless scientific researches. Billions would die from starvation if everyone went organic. Flies and ants would thrive though. Time to use that brain of yours
12real organic foods in europe for example if they are organic have to be raised on soil wich hasent been pesticided at least 3 years
13very true
there are always a few rotten apples that ruin it for everyone
I believe though that in the end, conventional is simply more efficient, and the health risks posed by these are trumped up. However, if you have the extra money to pay for it unlike the rest of us, go for it.
In the end though, any benefits would be negligible to risks posed by may other factors. Bad diet, smoking, drinking. Heart disease and obesity. There are much bigger (and technically simpler) things to worry about.
14if you take the time to research that kind of thing, the chemical processes that actually occur in your body you will understand that his kind of this is negligible to what we do to ourselves.
Overeating, inactivity, smoking, alcohol.
If you would like i could explain them all to you.
Cancer and every other disease is on the rise. A rise yes, but not a very steep, yet the world population is increasing exponentially. It’s only natural for diseases to follow suit.
15Gotta say one thing here, the government does not give a crap about you or me, and the FDA could not be more corrupt. There are so many terrible toxins and agents that directly attack your body (mostly your brain) that FDA simply approved for the sake of allowing big pharmas and monsanto to make a bigger profit. the FDA is one of the greasiest organisations, along with the wall street commissions. Which a lot of them actually remain in your body as a compound poison, such as fluoride.
16that’s why you gotta know who you’re buying from. And their process. Just because you found a bunch of scammers in the business doesn’t mean it’s the same for every other company out there, the only reason they’re allowed to scam is because people have no will in finding out where the shit they eat comes from. Now if only they knew, there’d be some serious debates about it.
17Awesome
18What this guy doesn’t know is some organic products are grown right next to crops that aren’t organic. Crop Dusters, Spray Drift, and pesticide runoff from these crops can cause cross contamination. Meaning your organics just aren’t all that organic. Plus there are pesticides out there that are “labeled” for Organic Crop production – Don’t forget to eat your veggies and pay your premium for it. The marketing worked well.. Use Nitrile gloves around pesticides next time not kitchen gloves!
19I wish i could write more in one text box ~
20And in the end, any detrimental health effects, no matter how large or small, are offset by the huge savings and efficiency of using pesticides. We are able to feed growing populations, and the starving people in poverty everywhere (actually that is caused by a lot of factors). Many, many more minds, more people, living, breathing, thinking. And until organic gets close to the value of conventional with all its pesticides etc I will prefer conventional
Even with all the testing in the future we probably will find some very bad health effect or something with the pesticides
but the best thing is that scientists and farmers and people of all sorts will change pesticides and practices, and maybe we’ll get a better pesticide.
As for the last question the wording is odd, chemical agents include fertilizer, which is harmless unless you eat it, and pesticides, which usually wash away. I guess not, it would be a small difference.
21it depends on the dose and the properties of the chemical
22of course taking anything, like aspirin, alcohol, pesticides will have an effect over time but if the dose is small enough for the body to handle then you will probably suffer no effects. Think about it. Its not in the best interest of any company to use pesticides that killed their customers, and not in the governments, or anyone’s really. So its effects are tested and regulated.
pound per pound conventional is much more efficient.
Legally, in order to label food as organic, it must be grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents. This, of course, only applies to food and farming methods which is what the topic is mainly about. Are you suggesting that a little poison taken everyday, throughout the course of your life, will have absolutely no detrimental health affects? Are foods grown with the use of chemical agents as safe as foods grown without them?
23I think the game is to kill them slowly, that way they don’t know you are killing them, and their kids will continue to buy your products, and their grandkids also.
24As far as the government, if everyone would just die at age 65 we wouldn’t need to worry about medicare or social security. If you think they care, think again, they are looking for those that pay more taxes not the ones that are draining the tax money. Government is not the friend of the eldery.
Not true, if you do the research, you will find that overall, taking good years with bad years, organic farming product the same amount as conventional farming. The lies come from the chemical industry that is making fortunes selling the chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
